Pahalgam to Panikhar Trek
This is a hard trek into Suru valley which leads to Zanaskar. The first two days of the trek follow the Amarnath cave route. The following days cross guloi gali pass. Climb to the Lonvilad Gali, go over the Chalong Glacier and continue down to Panikhar, From Panikhar one take the road north to Kargil or east into Zanaskar Valley.
Chandanwari Sightseeing and Hiking: located 16- Kilometers from central Pahalgam, Chandwari is the opening spot of the Amarnath yatra, which gets place every year in the month of July. Chandanwari is outstanding for snow sledging on a snow bridge. Taxi cabs can be rented from Pahalgam for a return tour/trip. The tour takes one hour from Pahalgam to reach the Chandanwari. The enroute to chandanwari has beautiful view along the Lidder River twisty on the one side, and supercilious, snow- capped mountains on the other side. Several Tourists desire to do a day hike to Chandanwari. At Chandanwari , the Sheeshnag Lake river is enchanting with its pure power and clear waters.
